A short, honest privacy notice.

This website uses privacy-preserving, first-party analytics to understand how it is used: which pages are visited and roughly how long visitors spend on them. It sets no cookies and uses no third-party analytics or advertising services.

One exception to being fully self-hosted: the project maps load their background tiles from Esri, which compiles them from several data providers including OpenStreetMap. When a map scrolls into view, your browser requests those tiles directly from Esri, which sees your IP address and the usual request metadata any web server receives. No other data is shared, and nothing else on the site loads from third parties.

When a page is viewed, your IP address is used briefly, in memory, to estimate a coarse location (country, region, city) and to compute a pseudonymous visitor identifier that changes every day. The analytics database never stores the IP address itself, and the identifier is not designed to be linked across days or tied to a person. As with any website, the infrastructure providers that host this site may briefly process connection details, including IP addresses, in routine server logs governed by their own policies.

What is retained: page paths, timestamps, approximate location, browser and device family, the site that referred you here (if any), and time-on-page, kept for at most 24 months, then deleted. This data is used only to understand interest in Alcove’s work. It is not sold, shared, or combined with other sources.

The contact form is separate. If you write in, Alcove stores the name, email, phone, role, project, and message you submitted so the team can reply. Those records are kept as a business record of the inquiry; they are not used for marketing lists and are not sold. If email notification is configured, a copy of the same fields is sent to Alcove through Resend, a third-party email provider, so someone actually sees the message.
